Chepelare tourist info and hotelsChepelare, is a small town situated in a picturesque valley in the central Rhodophes Mountain, southern Bulgaria. Although mostly popular as a winter destination since 1937, along with the nearby Pamporovo resort (11 km away), Chepelare is actually one of the sunniest villages in Bulgaria with an approximately 270 sunny days per year. That makes it attractive for visitors in any season. A number of tourists from Bulgaria and abroad enjoy some great eco tours and visits of the natural and cultural heritage sites in the area. Places of interest in the area include the natural phenomenon of The Bridges of Wonder (Wonderful Bridges), the Old Roman, the Karst museum, the National Astronomical Observatory "Rozhen", which is the largest observatory complex in South - Eastern Europe. Other sites worth a visit are St. Atanas Church, Fortress Tsirikova Church, the Ski museum, Captain Petko Voivoda museum, the Cave museum, Balkan War Veterans Monument and the House of Culture. The town has a beautiful park and a small garden where one can relax peacefully. There are numerous marked hiking and mountain biking paths among the beautiful nature of Rodophes. Horseback riding is also a popular sport in the region.

Chepelare Skiing HolidaysIn regard of snow sports, Chepelare has good infrastructure and is renowned for its 20 km long ski runs at the Mechi Chal ski center, where one will find some of the longest ski slopes in Bulgaria.
