Bankya is a spa resort only 17km away from Sofia – the capital of Bulgaria. The place is widely-known for its therapeutic powers. It is located at around 640m above the sea level, at the foot of the Lyulin Mountain. Bankya is rich in mineral waters – they have low mineral levels, are hypothermal, hydrocarbonic-sulphate-sodiumt clear, without colour, tasty and up to 37°C hot.

 

The climate of the area is moderate continental and is described as soothing and invigorating. The temperature in July is around 2°C and the one in July – around 19°C. Another good thing is that the winters are mild, while the summers are far from extremely hot. Because of the weather conditions, the resort is suitable for spa treatment ar prophylactics throughout the whole year.
